for everything TRIGLAV, and more!!

Hello everyone,

First of all, I want to thank all of you for your kind words regarding my mother’s passing. It is comforting to know that I have so many to lean on. Thank you again so much.

It’s been awhile since we visited last. I’ve been busy doing Triglav stuff. Although it may sound corny, it is a labor of love. I don’t know how else to put it. Triglav Park is a passion of mine and I enjoy getting things done that need doing. Guess I just like to “get ‘er done”.  I headed up the bylaw committee and with the help of Franjo Mejac, Jake Modic, Janez Mejac, Tony Limoni, Helen Frohna, Frank Vesel, Luke Kolman, and Ed Yakos, we went through each article and clarified, updated, and added to many of them. This document is a very important part of our society and once the board and our members approve the final draft, it would be great if you read it from cover to cover. It’s a good read.

WEBSITE

Also been working on getting http://www.triglavpark.com/ up and running again. Thomas Mejac couldn’t find the time, with school and everything else going on in his life, to keep the site updated so I asked a friend of mine, Bob Thomas, if he would be so kind as to take over the website duties for us. He gladly said yes so we’ve been working on expanding on Thomas’ vision of the website and I think we have succeeded. It still needs some tweaking here and there. This will all be taken care of in the near future, but it can be viewed. We lost all the pictures from the old site so new ones need to be taken for the homepage and the photo gallery. More fun for me. If you have any pics you’d like to see on the site, you know how to get them to me. Sure hope you like the new Triglav website!

RECIPES

Click on recipes and you can see, we need more. Would like you “girls” to e-mail me with your favorite recipes so we can put them up for all to try. Doesn’t matter how many you want to send. We have room. And you guys!! I know many of you are great cooks out on the barbecue or have a great chili recipe. Get them to me and I’ll make sure to post them for all to see and enjoy.

“Make us a date and bring two friends”

This quote is what will keep Triglav Park going for generations to come. Tell your friends about our website. They can see photos of our park, read about it’s history, maybe find or send some recipes and check out our calendar of events to make a date with us. Lets all bring our friends to our picnics and show off our hard work. We should all be proud of what our founding fathers started for us and what we continue to work hard at, to keep up and carry on.

“A” TEAM

Spring is creeping up on us. More like a sprint. If anyone knows how to slow this thing called life down, please let me know. Soon we will need to get the park ready for the Memorial Day picnic. As this time draws nearer, I’ll be contacting the “A” team and Janez and I will go over what needs to be done this year with you. It’s going to be a great year!

SLOVENIAN FEST!

We all need to become “Ambassadors for Triglav”. Part of doing that is to support other Slovenian efforts and they will return in kind by attending picnics at our beautiful park. The Slovenian Arts Council will present Slovenian Fest, held at St. John The Evangelist Gym on Sunday, April 3, 2005 from 12:30PM to 6:30PM. Seeing that we haven’t seen each other in awhile, lets all take a few hours out of our day and meet in a different setting. Once again, chances are, many of these folks will show up at our picnics and we will all have new friends to share our park with. Hope to see you there.
